The Étoile is hardwired, which means it connects to your wall's existing lighting circuit and switch — the same way a standard wall light does. Mounting screws are included. If your wall already has a light point, most people manage it themselves; if not, an electrician will need about an hour.
This is the whole point of the piece. The faceted crystal splits the light into dozens of fine rays that fan out across the wall in a starburst — longest to the left and right, shorter above and below. In a dark room the effect is striking; with other lights on it reads as a soft warm glow.
Both are 12 cm wide, so only the height changes. The 26 cm suits a bedside, either side of a mirror, or a hallway where you want light without bulk. The 46 cm is a statement — beside a fireplace, in a stairwell, or wherever the wall itself should be the feature. Many people buy the large in pairs.
The Étoile switches between three colour temperatures: warm (3000K), golden and candlelit, for bedrooms and living rooms; neutral (4000K), crisper and whiter, for hallways and dressing areas; and cool white when you want maximum clarity. One fixture, three moods — change whenever you like.
